A verse for the day 19 May 2020
1 Peter 1:13 NKJV Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
Father, you command this, but we ask that you also fill us with your Spirit, that we may have the power, to gird up the loins of our mind and do this. Give us a sober mind, that knows you are in control. Then we will rest in you. Help us to realise that to trust in the flesh is death. For as Job said, "How can a man be righteous before God". Without your gift of grace we are doomed. We need the Revelation of Yeshua the Messiah, that not only are you able to save us from our sins, but that you are now seated with all authority in heaven and on earth to save us from our enemies. Give us more grace, that we may have wisdom and knowledge and understanding to enter your rest. Then we will not be disobedient children, in need of revelation and salvation. We declare that in your grace we will fully rest, as obedient children, "not conforming to the former lusts", as the context of this verse declares. We will not be "like the grass" and the "glory of man that fades away", because you have overcome and place your incorruptible seed and spirit within us. You will give rest instead of a disturbed spirit, and bring us to eternal life.
