WHO & WHAT IS THE DESTINY OF ISRAEL?

Updated: Apr 18

We have a destiny, says the book of Revelations that only the Lion / Lamb can open. Rev 5:1-6 Israel, in Hebrew, according to Strong's concordance comes from two Hebrew words, and means "he will rule as God". So that is huge to live into, but best we understand one thing clearly from the start, there is only one winner in a race and that is our Messiah himself, our saviour and soon and coming King. We are nothing outside of Him and everything inside of Him, if we receive Him as our head. We who are the ecclessia (called out ones) are His body. "It's in dying that we are born to eternal life", said St Francis of Assissi, and he got that idea from the bible. But looking at those two words, perhaps it is a better translation to say, he will prevail through or as God. I share a belief with many other Messianic believers around the world, that the lost tribes of Israel are waking up and will return to the land of Israel. Of course this can only be achieved by our Saviour, but it seems very biblical to me. I believe it is not only Jews who return to the land of Israel in the latter days. The book of Hosea, speaks of two houses of Israel. The House of Israel and the House of Judah. This is actually history. Judah was the Southern Kingdom, with Jerusalem as Capital. But there was also a Northern Kingdom, referred to as Israel or Ephraim and made up of ten tribes. While there may well be members of all the tribes in both groups, Hosea speaks of the ten tribes as people he would put away (divorce) and scatter to the ends of the earth, referenced in Hosea Chapter 1 as "NOT MY PEOLE". But he add that in that self same place, where they are called "NOT MY PEOPLE", they will be called the "CHILDREN OF THE LIVING GOD." Who are these people? To me it is pretty obvious. Long before the Babylonian exile of the Jews, the Northern Kingdom was divorced by God and scattered to the ends of the earth, for their rebellion against His laws, the laws of Moses and because of their idolatry. The book of Hosea prophesies about these "lost tribes". (So read the book) It will even tell you that the Torah or Law would be a strange thing to them" (Clearly not referring to the Jews to me. Jews may not follow it, but they have guarded it.) Hosea 8:12 Though I wrote for them the great things of My law, they regarded them as something strange. And Chapter 2 of Hosea, tells us why they no longer keep the biblical feasts. Hosea Ch 1 NKJV

The Restoration of Israel

10 “Yet the number of the children of Israel Shall be as the sand of the sea, Which cannot be measured or numbered. And it shall come to pass In the place where it was said to them, ‘You are [e]not My people,’ There it shall be said to them, ‘You are sons of the living God.’ 11 Then the children of Judah and the children of Israel Shall be gathered together, And appoint for themselves one head; And they shall come up out of the land, For great will be the day of Jezreel! (Jezreel means "God sows" - I can see that also in believers around the world) I believe the Jews are of the tribe Judah, the one Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) came from that tribe. But Jesus himself said: Matthew 15:24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” I trust he was speaking of the full 12 tribes of Israel, which would include any who join themselves and are grafted in. When they came out of Egypt the "mixed multitude" that came out with the 12 tribes, was given a double portion and could pick a tribe to join.

Ephesians 2:12 says of all believers ... At that time you were without the Messiah, excluded from the citizenship of Israel, and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.

So, as believers we are all part of the commonwealth of Israel, (as other translations put it) . AND THE PROPHET EZEKIEL WROTE OF THE ISRAEL THAT I WILL BE UNITED AGAIN IN THE FUTURE, NEVER TO BE DIVIDED AGAIN! : Ezekiel 37

One Kingdom, One King 15 Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 16 “As for you, son of man, take a stick for yourself and write on it: ‘For Judah and for the children of Israel, his companions.’ Then take another stick and write on it, ‘For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel, his companions.’ 17 Then join them one to another for yourself into one stick, and they will become one in your hand. 18 “And when the children of your people speak to you, saying, ‘Will you not show us what you mean by these?’— 19 say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Surely I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions; and I will join them with it, with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they will be one in My hand.” ’ 20 And the sticks on which you write will be in your hand before their eyes. 21 “Then say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; 22 and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king over them all; they shall no longer be two nations, nor shall they ever be divided into two kingdoms again. I believe that this has clearly not been fulfilled and Judah, even today, only occupies to the Westbank, which was the border of their ancient territory. Here is a song I love. Zion by Aaron Shust This video, I believe depicts some of the land that relates to the Northern Tribes return. Note: If you go to Youtube itself to watch, people refer to Ephraim, in the comments below the video. They clearly share my understanding.

Remember what was promised to Abraham in terms of the Land. That is the future of the tribes of God, even if they suffer persecution on the way back there. They will return and be "married" to the land in the end. Messiah will be King over them and they will be one again, as they were under David's rule. The Jews hoped for the Kingdom of David (of heaven, if you like), in the time of Yeshua. They wanted the King who would save them from the Romans. They did not understand that Messiah must first come as "Ben Joseph", the suffering servant and only in the latter days, as the conquering King. Let the reader understand. Yeshua Hamashiach will come to rescue his people and the law of God will go out from Yerushalaim. He will rule with a rod of iron, and the world will finally find true peace for His thousand year millennial reign. The Kingdom of God, hoped for, prayed for and increasing, will finally be a reality that has fully come. And God will rule His people and through His people, Israel, who will certainly prevail, through their God. HalleluYah.
