Eye of the Storm

DEALING WITH ANXIETY

I have often been plagued by anxiety of some sort. Much more so, when I was younger. I learned over the years to get Jesus into my boat. How do you do that. Read his words and talk to the Father. I love this picture. When he is in the boat, even if the storm is raging around, if you let him in, he becomes the eye of your storm. I have experiences that so many times. I wrote about this in a song once. The second verse says:

"There is nothing more serene

Than sunset in Africa

But Lord you are the eye in every storm"

Take a listen to track 1 As The Waves Love The Sea.

As you do, consider the one who created the wind and the sea and everything that is capable of raging. Do not be afraid. Give him your anxiety. "Whistle a happy tune" and know that everything is going to be O.K.

At the same time, I am not going to emphatically say that it will be for you. Faith grows like any muscle. You need to exercise it. As the book of James says:

James 1 vs 6-7

6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

NEVERTHELESS There was one who who cried out "I BELIEVE, HELP MY UNBELIEF!"

Mar 9:24 Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears, “I believe. Help my unbelief!”

And Jesus healed his son.

And finally, a great scripture for these tempestuous last days:

Act 2:21

It will be that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.’
