To be found in the eye of the storm?

This is one of the most important teachings to consider at this time, because of it’s critical relevance to those discerning the season, who would also like to escape "the wrath that is to come." In holds a secret, that if applied, will give hope going forward. And I hope that you my brother and sister, will find the eye of the storm.

Let me state upfront:

Firstly, I do believe that the bible teaches positional righteousness. However, I do not believe it teaches it as a blanket “once saved always saved” covering for wilful and continual sin, but rather in that instance, it teaches a “near to being cursed.”

Hebrews 6:4-8 NKJV

[4] For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, [5] and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, [6] if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame. [7] For the earth which drinks in the rain that often comes upon it, and bears herbs useful for those by whom it is cultivated, receives blessing from God; [8] but if it bears thorns and briers, it is rejected and near to being cursed, whose end is to be burned.

Secondly, i believe that scripture teaches that God’s actions are always loving and redemptive, but he will use trouble or even tribulation, in an attempt to turn his people from sin to righteousness, and he will pour out his wrath upon the wicked, who spit upon the grace of the blood of Yeshua.

Haggai 2:17 NKJV

[17] I struck you with blight and mildew and hail in all the labors of your hands; yet you did not turn to Me,' says the LORD.

Thirdly, though God desires to bless His people and we will be blessed, both in the city and in the country, a being “blessed and never stressed”, prosperity type gospel, is not as entirely biblical, as many believe. Persecution, for righteousness sake, is rather a given, for believers and especially in the latter days.

Matthew 10:22-23 NKJV

[22] And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. [23] When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

So in Zephaniah 1 we read these scriptures, which relate to perhaps more than just Zephaniah's times. Zephaniah 1:7 Be silent in the presence of Yehovah God (the Lord God)

Zephaniah 1:14 The great day of Yehovah is near; Zephaniah 1: 15 That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress ... a day of clouds and thick darkness

Zephaniah 1:16 A day of trumpet and alarm ... Zephaniah 1: 17 ". I will bring distress upon men and they shall walk as blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord; their blood shall be poured out like dust, ..." Zephaniah 1:18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord's wrath;... To me all these scriptures can be seen to relate to words of latter day judgment. Here is one more scripture from Zephaniah, if you still have any doubt: Zephaniah 3: 8 Therefore wait for Me," says the Lord, "Until the day I rise up for plunder; My determination is to gather the nations to My assembly of Kingdoms, to pour on them My indignation, All My fierce anger; All the earth shall be devoured with the fire of My jealousy.

Zephaniah 2:3 NKJV Seek the LORD, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the LORD’s anger.

Let us look at the amplified version also.

Zephaniah 2:3 AMP Seek the LORD [search diligently for Him and regard Him as the foremost necessity of your life], All you humble of the land Who have practiced His ordinances and have kept His commandments; Seek righteousness, seek humility [regard them as vital]. Perhaps you will be hidden [and pardoned and rescued] In the day of the LORD’S anger. Now naturally, in Zephaniah's time, there was wrath coming upon the people that does not relate to our day. Yet God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow and his principles remain the same.

Years ago, when I first had this scripture jump out at me, God drew my attention to the words:

Seek Humility and Righteousness

But now, the words that jumped out for me, was the connection of these qualities to any hope of escaping God's wrath when it comes.

SO WHAT IS THE SECRET? The secret is that if you want any chance of escaping tribulation of some kind, then you will need to be FOUND PRACTICING THESE: RIGHTEOUSNESS and HUMILITY. You will also need to be found SEEKING THESE QUALITIES and, most importantly, DILIGENTLY SEEKING INTIMATE COMMUNION WITH GOD HIMSELF.

As we read above: Zephaniah 2:3 AMP Seek the LORD [search diligently for Him and regard Him as the foremost necessity of your life], All you humble of the land Who have practiced His ordinances and have kept His commandments; Seek righteousness, seek humility [regard them as vital]. Perhaps you will be hidden [and pardoned and rescued] In the day of the LORD’S anger.

1. SEEK THE LORD Strong's translates Lord, as Jehovah from the Hebrew. The bottom line, is that it is not some force we are dealing with, present in any religion. All roads do not lead to Jerusalem, in this sense. He is the specific creator God of the old testament that we are told to seek. He is the same God, who became flesh as EMMANUEL in His son, Yeshau, God in the flesh. He specifically give His son a name very close or the same as Joshua of the old testament. The meaning of both names is clear. Yahweh or Yehovah will save (Yeshua). There is salvation in no other name. In fact even the original pictographic symbols of YHVH have been shown to point to a translation of: BEHOLD THE HAND BEHOLD THE NAIL or TENT PEG. This relationship needs to be really sought diligently, say Zephaniah. IF YOU ABIDE IN ME, YOU WILL ASK WHAT YOU DESIRE AND IT SHALL BE DONE FOR YOU, SaSo the secret place, behind the veil should be what we are constantly pressing into.

2 SEEK HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS. This is more than POSITIONAL righteousness. Note the ones that have PRACTICED HIS ORDINANCE AND HAVE KEPT HIS COMMANDMENT, is pointed to in the amplified. No wonder the word teaches us in the new testament. 1 John 2:29 KJV If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him. (Practices has replaced doeth, in the NKJV) 1 John 3:7 NKJV Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. This is pretty conclusive. We need to being doing or practicing righteousness, which to me is being successful until you fall. In which case repentance is required to practice again. 3. SEEK HUMILITY STAY HUMBLE. YOU HAVE NOT ARRIVED, UNTIL YOU PUT IMMORTALITY. And only His grace that is bought by His blood and the gift to walk in the SPIRIT, will enable you to do so. So if one is inclined to have confidence in your ability to keep the law, you may be in serious danger there. 1 Corinthians 4:4-5 NKJV (Paul) For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord. [5] Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God. Philippians 3:3,12-14 NKJV and have no confidence in the flesh, [12] Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. [13] Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, [14] I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

The conclusion to an article on the book of Zephania, by GOT QUESTIONS. is a suitable conclusion here, so I quote: “With a few adjustments in names and situations, this prophet of 7th century B.C. could stand in our pulpits today and deliver the same message of judgment of the wicked and hope for the faithful. Zephaniah reminds us that God is offended by the moral and religious sins of His people. God’s people will not escape punishment when they sin willfully. Punishment may be painful, but its purpose may be redemptive rather than punitive. The inevitability of the punishment of wickedness gives comfort in a time when it seems that evil is unbridled and victorious. We have the freedom to disobey God but not the freedom to escape the consequences of that disobedience. Those who are faithful to God may be relatively few, but He does not forget them."

After my time of meditation and writing about the above, I woke early one morning and began to worship. I realised that some of the words that I found myself singing, were from this study and decided to move to my Studio to try and capture the song which was flowing from my spirit. So please excuse the gown etc. What you will hear is an unedited take of that intimate time of worship.
