Verse for your day 21 May 2020

Isaiah 61:10-11 NKJV

[10] I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. [11] For as the earth brings forth its bud, As the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, So the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

Let us encourage one another, we who believe, for in Isaiah 52.1 Zion is instructed to "put on her strength" and Jerusalem her "beautiful garments". Our garments are a gift of God. In Romans 13:14 it says "put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts." And we put them on by faith, for there is no other way, but if we do not exercise faith in a particular direction, we will do nothing. Therefore I encourage you today, do not do nothing.

One beautiful garment is the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. Put it on. Years back when I was divorced, it was the hardest thing I had ever done. I did not want to get out of bed in the morning. I had to work managing a restaurant in Stellenbosch and even sing there later in the evenings. Can you imagine, when you do not want to wake up in the morning, singing? But wow. What a lesson I learned. If we will actively, in obedience, do what God says in His word, and just determine to put on a garment He gives, a miracle will take place. God will clothe you, with what you are putting on by faith. Suddenly the spirit of heaviness will be gone. We could talk all day about the different garments and seek them in the scriptures. There are garments and rings of authority like Pharoah gave Joseph and they receive earthly honour. But then there are our garments given of God. And they are respected in the heavenly realms. Even the prodigal smelling of pigs, on his repentant return, a change of clothes and ring a fatted calf. The filthy garments on Joshua, whom Satan stood to accuse, but was rebuked, had his clothes replaced and a clean turban put on his head. It may have looked clean, but it was more than that. It was a helmet of salvation. He was told: "See I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes." A robe of righteousness at very least. You will not see these things in the flesh, but he has a robe of righteousness stretched out towards you. Take it and be like Yeshua on the mountain of transfiguration. I bet by faith it will dazzle your spiritual enemies who manifest in the flesh and overcome them.

"For you died and your life is hidden with Christ in God." Col 3:3 PRAYER Our Father and saviour, Yeshua, thank you that you clothed Adam in the garden and by the blood you have had mercy on us and provided garments of righteousness, good works, faith, power, love, praise, worship, obedience to your commands and a host of other rich robes. All we need is prepared for us. Open our eyes and help us to determine to put on Messiah our righteous saviour and all that you have desired to clothe us with, that we may be complete in Him, lacking nothing.

This collection of songs was created during that time of great trial for me, as I repented and put on the garments of praise day by day. Inspired by my friends instrumental album I simply created over it, using electric lead and melodic lyrics that welled up from my spirit in one of my darkest hours. Have a listen.
