Verse of the day 12 May 2020

Psalm 23:1 NKJV

[1] The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

This beautiful Psalm of David is not a favourite for nothing. I can imagine David singing it in his day, and the comfort it would have brought to others. This is also my heart, in sharing this verse with you today. Financial insecurity, is everywhere in the world right now. But this verse, shifts perspective. Your source, says David, is not the system of this world, or the state of your bank account. It is The Good Shepherd. And David, who has been one, and even risked his life, as a young boy, to slay a lion that threatened his sheep, knows the heart of our Father, the Good Shepherd. He will surely ensure green pastures, still waters, and a table before us, even in the presence of our enemies. But hey, if we want to actually receive this, we have our part to play.

1. Repent and give your life to Him. This is the only way God has provided. Believe that Yeshua died on the cross for your sins and that He was raised up by God, and you will inherit His promises and His Spirit to live inside you. You will become, in Him, one of the children of the Most High and one of the Good Shepherd’s sheep, whom He will certainly take good care of.

2. Mix the word you hear today with faith. Because without faith, it is impossible to please God or receive anything from God.

Dear Heavenly Father, maker of heaven and earth, we praise you, as we come in faith, washed by the blood of your innocent son Yeshua, into your very presence. We thank you, that in Him, we obtain innocence too and are accepted as your children, and we thank you Yeshua for saving us. We will lack no good thing, because you are our Good Shepherd. The source of all we need, is you almighty God. So instead of fearing lack,we rejoice today, in the security of the green pastures and still waters, that you are preparing for our tomorrow.
