WHAT IS WORSHIP?

Serving someone else, in Him, can also be a form of worship.

Worship is our life's response to one who has truly given us everything! Not just life itself, but He also laid down everything for us! Every good and perfect gift comes from Him, resulting in a life that, once it has understood this, can only devote itself to Him. And He, on earth, showed us through Messiah Yahushua that He was all about serving others.

If one studies the old testament laws of the Torah, it is soon clear that they are all about either loving our Father in heaven or loving our neighbour as ourselves. Worship always involves giving of ourselves, even if it is just the thanksgiving of our lips.

1 John 2:3

Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.

1 John 2:4

He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Yahushua (Jesus), said:

John 14:24 He who does not love Me does not keep my words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the father's who sent Me.

John 15:10

If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.

That is pretty clear, isn't it. The commandments of the so called "Old Testament", are the very same commandment that Yahushau said He kept and instructs us to keep! If we do them, we are not under the law, but under grace, for no one can do this, except by the power of His Spirit of grace within us. Let us then have faith in His power, that by grace we can practice walking like he walked,. and obeying our Father's commandments, just as He did. As Paul says in Hebrews 6, if God permit, let us go on to perfection. And as Paul also said: Php 2:13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. And, as Solomon in Ecclesiastes says: Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Just think about it.

Is there any more expected of us than this? That we love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength and our neighbour as ourselves?

This is what the commandments written in the Torah are pointing towards and what Yahushua fullfilled in His life and what He expects of us, when He saysL : Follow Me.

We should hunger and thirst for His righteousness and let Him live His love out through us. He came to desroy sin in the flesh. (Romans 8)

No wonder He says to all the churches in Revelation. "To Him who overcomes..."!

Then we are His disciples indeed and our worship will be more than a song! And all the glory will be His, for we know it is only when we are week that He is strong,
